The origin of the name 'India'

1. From the word 'Indian subcontinent', the Republic of India (the official Sanskrit name of Hindustan is 'the Republic of India', which today people call itself 'India'), or 'Greater India' etc. is taken from the word. India's English name 'India' originated from the word 'Sindhu' which is prevalent by the Greeks in the fourth century Isha East. By the name of Bharat, people started calling Ajnabhkhand Bharat Varsha. Vishnu Purana mentions "ततश्च भारतवर्ष तल्लो केषु गीयते" meaning "Since then this country has been called the year of India". wayupuran also says that earlier India's name was Snow Year.
